The Mitsubishi Pajero Owners Club was founded by Ray Waller and his wife Mo, in 1999. At that time, Ray and a handful of pioneering enthusiasts bought imported Mitsubishi Pajeros, sometimes in preference to the more costly UK Shogun. But very few insurers would touch them. Main dealers were reluctant to service them. And few people knew anything about them! Those pioneers joined together and with a £200 donation from a local importer, produced the Clubs first magazine. John Butler established our original websites, expanding the club and the interest in Pajeros across the internet. Pajero import sales were rocketing and expected to out-sell the Shogun. Membership soared! Everybody wanted to get involved, including the Colt Motor Company! In 2001, they arranged an ‘all expenses paid’ meeting with Ray and John. With our differences behind us, Colt began to recognize Pajeros in their main dealer outlets. We accepted Shoguns into the Club and Colt arranged a free recall on the ‘Pitman Arm’. Allan Bugg of 'Allans Vehicle Services' was our Technical Advisor until he stepped down in 2011, due to increasing work commitments. He helped members to fix their Pajeros, giving advice by phone, email and in person. We continued to grow and had thousands of enthusiastic members throughout Europe, with wide interests, from caravanning to off-roading. Our Club is non-profit making. We are not a business and funds are ploughed back into the Club to benefit the members. We rely on membership fees, merchandise sales and advertising income. We run a free Forum and publish a monthly Magazine, offering advice with insurance, servicing, repairs, availability of parts, Club Rallies, members chat and ideas. Anyone can use the Forum, but only Full Members get the magazine! Full Membership costs £10 annually.
