The Mitsubishi Pajero Owners Club was founded by Ray and Mo Waller in 1999. At that time, a handful of enthusiasts bought imported Mitsubishi Pajeros, sometimes in preference to the more costly UK Shogun. But very few insurers would touch them. Mitsubishi main dealers were reluctant to service them. And nobody else knew anything about them!

Those pioneers joined together and with a £200 donation from a local importer, produced the Clubs first magazine.

Pajero import sales were rocketing and expected to out-sell the Shogun. Membership soared. John Butler established our original websites and everybody wanted to get involved, including the Colt Motor Company! In 2001, they arranged an ‘all expenses paid’ meeting with Ray and John. With our differences behind us, Colt began to recognize Pajeros in their main dealer outlets. We accepted Shoguns into the Club and Colt arranged a free recall on the ‘Pitman Arm’.

We continued to grow and had thousands of enthusiastic members throughout Europe, with wide interests, from caravanning to off-roading.

Our Club is not a business - it's non-profit making, which means that all funds are ploughed back into the Club to benefit the members. We offer advice with insurance, servicing, availability of parts, importing and SVA etc. Access to the Forum is free but full membership of the Club costs £10 annually. Full members also receive the Clubs monthly magazine!

We rely on membership fees, merchandise sales and advertising in order to run the website and to publish the 'members only' monthly magazine with letters of queries, more advice and ideas.

And its official – there are now more Pajeros than Shoguns in the UK!
